Susan Mackie

Susan’s work started in the area of cognitive thinking working with children across all ages and needs. This led to work in the education, not-for-profit and business sectors. Susan has deep experience in the areas of wicked problem solving, neuroscience and cognition, innovation, human-centred design and commercialisation.
She has worked with and co-presented with Dr Edward de Bono (lateral thinking) and Prof. Carol Dweck (growth mindset). She is a Director and Co-Founder of the Growth Mindset Institute. A globally recognised centre for the design and delivery of growth mindset programs, assessment and research.
Her work is designed to create and inspire in people a desire to re-consider how they see themselves, their environment and others.
John Rives
John Rives is a co-founder of the Growth Mindset Institute and collaborates with Prof Carol Dweck and Susan Mackie on developing and delivering growth mindset programs. He has developed the Mindset Profiler into the most advanced online mindset psychometric tool globally.
He has been the keynote speaker on Growth Mindset to global conferences and Fortune 100 businesses in the USA and Europe and APAC with audiences of over 1,000 people. He has written numerous articles on Growth Mindset including “Growth Mindset and the Future of Work”.
John is the former CEO of one of Australia’s top 50 private companies. He was the Chief Information Officer and head of service delivery for Optus Vision, a multi-billion-dollar telecommunications start-up, and one of the first Executives of Optus Communication during its start-up.
